NYC ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS INFUSED WITH ART | EMILY + TODD

The day Todd proposed to Emily, he'd planned a trip to Dia: Beacon. When they got to the museum, Todd tried to find a secluded spot because he'd promised Emily when he did propose it would be a private moment between just the two of them. There were people everywhere they went at Dia, but Todd finally found a secluded spot in the garden outside. There was only one problem: a little boy playing in the dirt who wouldn't move. To buy himself some time, Todd told Emily he wanted to take a photo to try out his new Bluetooth controller he'd gotten for his phone's camera. As he set up his phone, and the boy's mother got him out of there, so Todd quickly made his move. He took a couple of photos of them sitting on a bench, then he dropped down to one knee and asked Emily to be his wife.

Being the art lovers that they are, for their engagement photos Emily and Todd wanted to incorporate some of their favorite artworks and landmarks in the city. We started out in midtown, where they gained access to a James Turrell light installation inside the lobby of a private office building. Then we made our way down to Astor Place for photos by "Alamo" (The Cube), and the old subway kiosk replica. We hopped in a cab to Bowery and Houston for photos in front of Logan Hicks' "The Story of My Life" mural, and we even managed to snag some photos in a nearby garden before sunset.

I had so much fun running around the city and laughing with these two, and I'm so pumped for their wedding this summer at the McKittrick Hotel!
